Hydrovac trucks rely on two main components.
First, high pressure jets of water are used to loosen the material that is being excavated.
Second, a very strong vacuum hose sucks the loosened material and excess water into a large holding tank.
Hydrovac trucks can be used to excavate almost any type of material that typically needs to be excavated on a construction site, including hard packed clay, sand, ice and gravel.
